Big tech firms gather data on us in many different ways. That part is well-known by the public. Less known, but at least equally disturbing, is that your bank often has access to these data as well. This is part of a deal between banks and big tech companies where consumer behaviour gets traded for financial info on each of us. They are having a party at our expense indeed.. This infographic makes the point in a light-hearted and fun way.
The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) is the European umbrella organisation for independent national consumer organisations. Founded in 1962, it represents more than 40 member organisations from over 30 European countries. BEUC works with its members to inform EU policy and promote a fair and sustainable economy and society for consumers. Its activities include advocacy, policy analysis, enforcement and support for consumer redress. The organisation focuses on areas including financial services, mobility, energy, health, product safety, food systems, digital products and services, and sustainable consumer choices.
