'Collective redress' campaign
Concept and design of the collective redress campaign. Lady Justice ánd an increasing number of Members of European Parliament, support BEUC's call for collective redress regulation. This is the European equivalent of the US class action suit, where groups of citizens can sue companies when their interests are being violated. BEUC defends the interests of European consumers and acts as the umbrella organisation for national consumers’ organisations.
To this end, BEUC investigates EU decisions and developments likely to affect consumers, with a special focus on five priority areas: Financial Services, Food, Digital Rights, Consumer Rights & Enforcement and Sustainability.
