How much space for Renewables?
Surprisingly little is the space needed for renewable energy sources to meet the 2040 agenda. For a country as Romania, dedicating 0,7% of the country's surface to renewables would be sufficient, whileas 17% of the land is suitable. For other EU countries the challenge is a bit tougher but on an EU-level the amount of suitable land is still two times more than the amount of land that is required. The European Environmental Bureau (EEB) is a network of environmental citizens’ organisations working across Europe. It brings together members from many countries and covers a broad range of environmental policy areas. The EEB combines policy expertise, coalition building, communication and advocacy to contribute to European and international decision-making. Its work spans topics including climate, nature, circular economy, chemicals, pollution, agriculture, energy and sustainable consumption and production.
