The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) represents workers and trade unions at European level. Founded in 1973, it brings together national trade union confederations and European trade union federations from across the continent. The ETUC is a recognised European social partner and takes part in social dialogue with employers and EU institutions. Its activities include policy development, negotiation, research, campaigns and coordination between member organisations. The confederation works on employment, working conditions, social policy, collective bargaining, equality, skills, industrial change and other issues affecting workers and labour markets in Europe.
